The solubility of KNO3 is 38g/100ml. So if you start with 76g in 200ml of water. I usually heat the solution gently not to boiling and then add extra KNO3 for good measure.

I get mine out of the SI Chemical Data book. Th Laboratory By B Dungey has tables on pps 11- 25.
