Hi, they are for making up Buffer solution, so much easier than making solutions from scratch. I have them as Green 7-12

Hope that helps. :coffee:

I have just bought some buffer tablets, but they didn't come with instructions.

How much water to dissolve each tablet?

Not listed in CSIS. Macca - where id you get information on classing them please?

Cheers

Hi Liz,

My Buffer Tablets are made by s.d. fine-chem ltd. instructions say 1 tablet dissolved in 100ml distilled water.

As for classifying we use chemwatch, anything I can't find in CSIS I look up the main ingredient and code from there or if main ingredient isn't stated go to MSDS Menu on chemwatch, then go to acute and chronic health effects talk it over with HT if it needs a riskassessment done or not.

Long story short mine are classified 7-12 although it's only Yr.11-12 that use it.

hope that helps

Liz,
you might have to contact supplier about instructions/
Mine are supplied by Serrata and one tablet is dissolved in 30ml of distilled water.

Thanks, Lada - I did get them from Serrata. Think I'll get back to them right now and ask that they send an instruction sheet, and SDS and see what happens!

Ok, that's sorted!

The young man I talked to said that he'd just written instruction sheets for Buffer tablets recently, and will send them up, along with SDS for each.

Thanks again for your great advice girls =D>

Hahaha that's about the same response I got when I bought mine a few years ago and they came without instructions!! Must be their standard response :)

Serrata sent up some instructions for the Buffer tablets - dissolve 1 per 30mLs distilled water (see attached sheet).

But there are no SDS available.

Had a laugh over that - exactly the same words as the ones I got a few years ago. Slightly different layout. "Just written the instructions" Yeah, right!!! hahahahahahaha

Oh, no I didn't mean to imply you wouldn't get them. Sorry. I did the same as you. Rang them for instructions and got about that same reply, but they did send them to me. I just think it is funny that they don't just send the instructions! I mean, how much could it possibly cost to throw one in with a packet? The ones I got were about 1/4 of A4 page...
