rimless test tubes

Post by ri »

Hi All, and if it's not too late - HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Can my colleagues give me any feedback about using rimless test tubes instead of rimmed ones??
I am so tired of the rims chipping off leaving a nasty sharp edge which we are forced to flame to polish off. The repaired test tube does not always look repaired and when testing with a finger can result in a cut.
I also need a supplier of rimless ones. They don't seem to be too common.
Thanks,
~Robyn

Hi Robyn,
We use rimless test tubes and have had no problems.
Try Serrata Rimless Borosilicate: 1016142 13x100mm pk 100 @ $15.00
1007127 16x150mm pk 100 @ $49.00
1007118 25x150mm pk 100 @ $55.00

Thanks Carol, very reassuring.

Hi Robyn, I just ordered 200 of them yesterday. I dont like the rimmed for that very same reason. I have asked however, that they be tubes with a ridge on them. Better in my opinion that a totally rimless.
