Hi folks, I have two old type Burettes, that I do not seem to be able to clean. They have grease marks on the in side of the Burettes. I have tried warm soapy water, HCL diluted. Perhaps I should give up and throw them away.
Try a conc. solution of Pyroneg, its fairly agressive detergent, and soak for a day or too. I still like Chromic Acid for such things, but that a no no these days.
I would intend to use a solution of Oxalic Acid and keep it in for at least a week.
If this does not work try using Conc. Sulfuric and keep this acid in the burettes for a week also.
It is certainly worth a try.
Hope this helps,
Robb.....
