Simple question - Is Naphthalene banned in det schools?
I was told it was by someone, although I cannot remember who.

Not banned. According to CSIS(??) it is an 11-12 chemical. Use in fume hood or small quantities less than 50ml/g. Flammable solid highly toxic, avoid inhaling vapour.
Use eye and skin protection. Do not heat in open lab. There is more but thats the main bit.
