Re: Planetarium working model
Most suppliers have them in their catalogues... I know we are not supposed to recommend anyone - but the suppliers who are the most popular would have them. They are pricey though!
Re: Planetarium working model
yeah, pricy and not big enough for 30 kids to get around and see it properley, so it generally stays in it's box on the top shelf
Re: Planetarium working model
Hi Sue,
I got an excellent one from K-Mart in the pre-xmas sales in December. It talks, rotates all the planets around, has a quizz button, and other features. Probably won't stand up to too much student "activity", but for $29, it beats the scientific ones in the budget stakes. I would scout around your big stores in the toy section, and see what's available. You might find something suitable.
Cheers,
Lisa

Labman, I bought that one, too, and sorry, I disagree. Was so excited when I found the last one in town! Then I was disappointed when I got home and unpacked my 'orrery' (think I love the name most of all) - eg. the planets rotated, but all at the one time, not independently, and my son was unimpressed with the questions. Talked it over with the HT, and we ended up returning it to the store, and using the money for things we needed more.

Now that you mention it Ocker, I vaguely recall seeing one of those advertised on TV recently. Could have been during a recorded show as I don't tend to watch much tv these days... but yes, worth asking!! Let us know how you go, Sue!
