Chemwatch msds

Post by SGG »

Hi everyone
Talking to my IT bloke this morning about chemwatch. He used to work for a mining company and they ditched chemwatch because the msds were not equal to the manufacturers msds and a workcover audit pointed it out. I recall seeing something recently when an email from Chemwatch trying to sell specific msds that said the Chemwatch msds were not in line with legislation. Is this correct?

I received an email recently asking us to authorise a letter that chemwatch would send to suppliers to obtain their MSDS. I understood it was because there are holes in the chemwatch database and that would help alleviate the problem.

Seems to be mainly for product formulations and not generic chemicals that vary for each manufacturer and sometimes when I've looked up a particular product it's just not there.

My science coordinator was happy to sign it.

Cheers
Judy
