The form I received says that it is for the ones who haven't done the training. It doesn't say anything about changes, but I guess there is likely to be some information that has been updated since the training manual came out.
From what I believe, CSIS training is done as a whole school project, once you have been signed off. That is it, until a main change happens. Each school should done a CSIS training first day back for new staff (New to the school). Mostly it is the head of Science that does the training, which of course is all in the CSIS 2 folders.

yep, Thats my understanding too Sue. I have taken staff at a few schools through the training, both as groups, and individual learning. Thats why I want to know when new updates/material is released.
I am going to this course n Im here in Moss Vale. Mine has been approved n all here at the college. My first choice was the 30th November, Friday. If we r the same day we could go together, maybe?
Cheers Tammy
If you are thinking of going to the STANSW annual conference Friday 30 November, then there is a clash.
I'm going to the Monday 26 Nov session.
St Mary's conference is 22/23 Nov
My Principal has approved my attending the course and promptly lost the form, which I included with my application for funding. Silly me - I knew I should have kept a copy! Could somebody out there please fax me the form on 66572281 - att. Julie. I would really appreciate a quick response so I can get my application in.
Renewing my call for help on the course application form. I would appreciate a copy if someone could fax it to me please, or just put up the contact details for the course so I can contact the person concerned. Thanks.
Hi Barbara
I was speaking to our Workcover rep. yesterday and she indicated that the new or updated CSIS will be released to the public schools probably in Term 4. Although, might I suggest, Don't hold your breath!!!
Cheers

Hi All,
I've been following this thread because I really don't want to go to an in-service that is the same as all the others I've been to over the years. Since the CSIS is to be updated in Term 4 (wonder when we'll find out about it in my school system!?), I'll hold off rather than go thru all the same stuff again. Would have been nice to meet the Chemtalk people, though.
Regards,
Liz
Hi All
As far as I know this is not a Dept course
If I was going I would first find out a little more about it to make sure that it is not just a waste of time and money

Hi All
Sorry i forgot to say that the Dept has not sent out an updated version of the CSIS as they said they would last year at the Lab Assistants Conference. It is still the same one.

Hi all, I know I'm a bit late on this subject but I hope I get to meet some of the other country kids. My school is only paying for the course I have to organise everything else. But I do have family their so its only petrol.
Hi everyone,
I am pleased to confirm that I am booked in on the 26th, arriving at the airport about 7.35 that morning. I was wondering if if anyone else is doing the same on the Monday? I'd love to meet fellow chemtalkers and also thought we could travel to Normanhurst together?

I'll be flying down for the Science SASS conference the previous week and staying down for CSIS training. Staying in Ashfield with friends. Can exchange mobile phone numbers or something to meet up somewhere.
Julie
Hi Julie,
I have just received notification today that I am placed 14th on the waiting list (bummer!) and I feel quite torn hoping that 14 people would drop out so I can go but not really wanting to wish ill on anybody... If it works out that I make it, I'd really love to catch up with you. Thanks for your thought and care, I will just have to see where fate takes me! *sigh*
