Disposal of animal specimens
Disposal of animal specimens
We have a lot of preserved specimens that have seen much better days!
They are all in 50/50 metho and water.
My H.T. wants me to get rid of them.......what should I do with all the dead bodies?????
There's rats, snakes, frogs and all sorts of "bugs".
Thanks in anticipation.......

Re: Disposal of animal specimens
Ours were collected with the chemical pick-up.
Re: Disposal of animal specimens
I'd love to think you could build a bonfire & burn them.
It would be fun, but not allowed...

Check your local Waste disposal. Small dead animals can be taken to the Tamworth Regional Waste centre for a $17 fee.

Re: Disposal of animal specimens
Hmmm wounder what they do in the AG plot when they find a dead chicken . .......probably bury it .
I seriously doubt they take it to the local waste station and pay to get ride of it.

Re: Disposal of animal specimens
I went to a boarding school, but I was a day student. The joke at school was that any animal found dead, or leftovers from dissections, went to the boarders' dining room. The food didn't have a good reputation.
Re: Disposal of animal specimens
Our neighbour is a farmer, and he disposes of small dead animals on a handy ants nest.
Not sure how they'd go with the ethanol.

Re: Disposal of animal specimens
I rang the local council and they were happy to take them off our hands. No charge!! The HT drove them (a car boot full of very smelly old yucky unspeakable things) and the blokes at the recycling centre were fascinated and wanted to put them on display. There's no accounting for taste!!
