Just when you think you've heard it all.....
Here we are half way through term 4 and I was just in a yr9 (yes yr9) class helping set up various prac stations and a group of YR9 girls came up to me and said
"Oy Miss whats a beaker?"
I dont know whether to laugh or cry, What do these kids take in?????

And to think, these are potentially the people who will look after us in old people's homes! Really scary stuff...

Better than a staff member I suppose. I had a teacher ask what a round and a flat bottomed flask was once.

No, that would just have confused him. He has enough trouble grasping roll call.

I remember a teacher (male) at a previous school asking me for a curette! Can you believe it?? After a process of elimination and guesswork I found that he actually needed a crucible! So pleased we didn't have to procede with the curette!

A crucible! Silly me, I would have given him a Burette, or a deflagrating spoon might have done the original job
Re: Just when you think you've heard it all.....
I have been laughing here with tears running down my cheeks... a curette!
I agree with Ocker - i would have thought burette...
But come to think of it .. hey - lets all have an In-service atyour place and we can SEE how to do a curette on the teacher!!!!!
