Specimen jars

Does anyone know where I can get some large specimen display jars/bottles like these? [-o<
Jars 004.jpg
I have some creatures in old bottles that I want to refresh & put in new containers, & searching my regular suppliers & the web hasn't turned up anything.

Cheers,

Waterbaths

Hi all,

we're looking at replacing our old Grant waterbaths with new digital ones, & I'm starting to research brands, prices etc for our 2011 budget. [-o<

Has anyone purchased waterbaths in the last year or so, & can you recommend any brands/models/suppliers?

Thanks :D

Re: lab refurb or oh God cant someone help me

My lab & prep sinks are stained & scratched too, & I've been meaning to try something I saw on Better Homes & Gardens a few years ago.....cutting compound that you use on car duco. The show renovated an old daggy kitchen. The sink was stained but good quality stainless steel, so they...

Re: Recipe for Hydrogen Carbonate indicator solution please?

If you mean to test for the presence or absence of CO2 & O2 in photosynth & respiration, I use the bromothymol blue-phenol red combination. Stock bromo blue Dissolve 0.5g in 0.35ml 2M NaOH & make up to 1L Stock phenol red Dissolve 1g in 30ml 0.1M NaOH & make up to 1L Indicator Add 4m...

Re: Changing flower colours

Yesterday I went to the $2 shop down the road & found a bunch of fake white flowers. It's a posie so there are 6 flowers all joined on the one stem. I did the same as with the filter paper. Soaked in universal, dried in the drying cabinet, soaked & dried twice more to get good colour depth. ...

Re: Changing flower colours

This sounded like fun so I had a play yesterday.....I soaked some filter paper circles in universal indicator then dried them my glassware dryer, soaked them a second time & dried again to get a nice dark colour. Actually comes out orange on the paper, not green. I folded the circles into rough ...

Hi all, I'm curious about the difference between fresh & frozen lamb brains for dissection.......we get fresh, but as they're becoming harder to source reliably I'd like to try the Dissection Connection, set up by an ex-labbie to supply dissection organs. They come frozen, so can anyone tell me ...

Hi Krysia, I have a Miele Lavabor Professional G 7804, & it's a gem! I get it serviced each year & it's worked beautifully for nearly 5 years without a single glitch. It took a few years to get budget approval because it wasn't cheap, but I can highly recommend it. It does a large volume of ...
