Separation of organic mixtures

Hi All,
One of our classes is doing "separation of organic mixtures" using a mixture of three methyl butan-1-ol and benzoic acid. There was already enough of the mixture in the flammables store for them to use(made up by previous labbie)but when I need to make more, is it a particular volume of either, or maybe a 50/50 mix? Any suggestions appreciated.
Cheers,
Lisa

Hi Lisa,

A mixture of a 50/50 ratio will be suffice. this allows you to at least have a volume that is easily worked with.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,

Robb.....

Hi Robb,
Thanks for clarifying that for me. I'd rather ask and get it right, than get it wrong and be wasteful, or dangerous!
Cheers,
Lisa
