Thanks bigmack and a huge welcome back to you too!

I had a shift on the RAT stall too, actually a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon. They set up a cabana for us under some trees and I was rostered on with some friends.

Probably not a government mandated lockdown. Our new government is more focussed on the economy and the effects lockdowns have on that.
Of course, we will all be going off either sick or having to isolate because of family members contracting COVID. I can't believe that I can sit right next to someone all day and not be a close contact but I would be a close contact of my son who is out more than he is at home!

I've come back to work feeling like I need a holiday. I know we often joke about this, but this year I am serious.

Ha! Sorry Andrew it has been a slow, shaky start to the year in NSW - I feel like I need a holiday :(

To clarify - I missed the meeting on Friday (only four days a week this year) - seems like essential school staff can be asked to return to work if they are a close contact, asymptomatic and test negative each day on a RAT.
It will be interesting to see if labbies are considered "essential".

Very true, seems silly to me.

It is ridiculous, Labbie. As our Food Tech assistant said to me, we have spent all our holidays ducking and weaving covid, keeping a low profile and not doing much with our break. We come back to work and we will be working with close contacts and people who won't be doing the RAT tests. Makes you wonder why we bothered.
I just hope that when (not if) I contract COVID I don't get too sick, or worse, I don't pass it onto my 93 year old father. I can't imagine what impact that will have on him. And how do I manage that if he does get sick? He lives on his own and won't want to leave his home.

Sorry bring back Gladys, it's a very silly rule. No thought has gone into this. I'm very cross with the whole thing,

Here, here! This guy is only looking at $$$ and doesn't seem to think it through. Example: "all students MUST be tested before returning to school" to "All students SHOULD be tested before returning".

It was interesting handing out Test kits . It was obvious that quite a few were never intending to use them as it is not compulsory , yet they were more than happy to take them because they were free .
I'm wishing we had stamped them with the schools logo and that they were not for resale .
