Microscope Slides

Post by shellythenewlabby »

Hello Everyone. Hope you are all doing well and looking forward to a WELL deserved break. Just wondering how everyone gets Bromothymol Blue off your microscope slides. I have soaked them in Metho and also Soapy water but the stain remains. :-?

Have a great day

I haven't ever noticed it staining my slides, but have you tried 3M HCl? That is my goto universal stain remover. The best thing about it is that I can reuse it over & over again!
Good luck!

I do the same thing. From experience they develop a blue tinge, rather than a full on stain, so just re-use them. If I can't get them cleaned easily, I throw them away. They aren't worth too much trouble.
