Shower testing frequency

Hi,
Can someone please tell me how frequently I'm supposed to test the safety shower and eye wash?

I've been doing it weekly, as I was asked to, but it does seem to come around very quickly.
I feel all I do is test the shower and mop up!

The standard says weekly. The eyewashes shouldn't be an issue it is the safety shower that is a PITA to do.

I'm thinking what's a PITA, racking the grey cells and then the penny dropped. Yes definitely a PITA.

Do you have the cover for testing the shower? I have a blue sleeve that directs all of the water into a bucket, no problems and very easy to clean up.

BTW, I love, love, love my safety shower - we had to use it last year when a student spilled a beaker of boiling water onto her leg. End result - one flooded prep room and one girl with NO marks on her leg. To negate the floods I now have some soak-em-up socks to make a dam around the base of the shower directing the water into the drain.
