Hi all,
This was answered back in 2007 but I thought I should check again.

Disposing of empty chemical containers- straight in the bin?
held on to for a hazardous waste pickup?
taken by me to disposal sites?

Apologies if this is covered in the handbook- I have left it at home today :(

After rinsing out a few times, into bin.

same as labbie, rinsing out the containers few times and then in to the bin

Triple rinsing is the standard way for cleaning most chemical containers. I leave the lid on and throw it in the bin.
