Hello all,
Does any know if Fume cabinets and Chemical Store room exhaust systems in Independent Schools have to be tested each year?
Thanks

We have ours tested every year by Conditionaire. Its organised through our maintenance department and they do it in the July holidays.

Fume cupboards should be maintained and tested according to AS2243 Safety in Laboratories and WorkCover NSW. To ensure that there is adequate air flow it should be checked periodically. We have 2 fume cupboards and we have contracted Dynaflow to check once a year.

Ours are tested every 6 months! It's very expensive. Does anyone know if only once per year meets the safety standards?
Kathryn :-)

I would also like to know what the minimum requirements are as well as we get ours tested every 6 months by Dynaflow.

Ours get checked as part of the Site Maintenance Schedule and the cost doesn't come out of my budget so I don't really care how often they do it
