Dear Teacher/Lab Assistant

The Royal Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA) is pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the 2012 Teacher Cheesemaking Workshops to be held under the Royal Queensland Food & Wine Show Banner.

The workshops to be held from 19 to 23 March 2012, are open to all schools (primary, secondary, state and private) in Queensland.

The RNA is once again very excited to run this innovative and Australian first concept again in 2012.

Due to the expected demand from the Education sector and with only limited spaces available, nominations for the workshops will be on a first in basis, with only maximum of two (2) nominations per school.

There will be 3 days of workshops for White (Camembert) Cheese and 2 for Blue Cheese. Only schools/teachers that have participated in previous years White workshops can nominate for the Blue workshops.

Once again the RNA is offering this opportunity to schools/teachers free of charge.

All schools accepted into the workshops are expected to implement the cheesemaking process into their curriculums so that students/schools can then enter into the Student Cheese competition as part of the Royal Queensland Food & Wine Show Cheese and Dairy Produce competition. Failure to do so may result in an administrative fee of $100 per workshop attendee charged to the School.

All teachers should be aware that to put the cheesemaking into practice back in your schools, that the first cheesemaking process/lesson will require a 3.5 to 4 hours as a single lesson.

Contact me for a Nomination form and the below link will take you to the Teacher Cheesemaking Workshop information page on the RNA Website.
