Radioactive Sources

Hi All
Hope you can help me we need to buy some new Radioactive Sources as one of the Teacher here melted them together after playing with the cloud chamber :redcard: :redcard: :redcard: (she did not wash them).
Has anyone got any Ideas PLEASE HELP

i just got my haines special catalogue today
$225 each!
or a source set of Ps St and Co for $550.
I can give you item numbers if you need.

Is it the teachers that I think it is????
Better not say on here...but i can imagine how furious you are!

Look around the different suppliers. I remember there being a difference in price between companies when I was looking a couple of years ago. It works out cheaper to buy the sets rather than individual sources. I'm sorry I don't remember where was cheapest...

serata has the single source for 195, but their 3 sources is 597...swings and round a-bouts...

Re: radioactive sources....I got rid of mine to melb uni.Chaps came up and tested them (they had lost their radioactivity to a point and contaminated the lead wrapping). Now we have a new geiger and use an old smoke alarm for a scource.(And whatever the physic teacher comes up with).

Other way's of getting rid of them lets see in her bag she takes home every night,in the boot of her car!!!!!
