DET Schools - Faculty Review

Has any one else been thru this with their science department??
Can you share with me if you as the labby had any role to play?
I know the teachers are setting up 'whizz bang' pracs for the lessons they will be observed - which i am doing for them, but so far as anything else, will i need to do anything?

I am madly trying to get my chem store in better order and make sure all the dots are up to date and the chems are in the right places...but it is doing my head in (not to mention not being able to spend too much time in there at once)

We had a faculty review a couple of years back as a result of "poor" HSC results. It only involved the teachers.

Yeah, that's right. It had nothing to do with pracs or storerooms or chemicals or the labbie. It was about teaching programs and teaching stuff.

PHEW!!!!!!!

I have worked in hospitals thru the EQUip Accrediation process and the OH&S reviews, so i thought I might have been in for a check up toooooooo.

Oh well at least i know it is done now - and i wont be taking the last of the data home to finish over the weekend.

I best get back to preparing the whizz bang pracs they need - first to soak the pasta shells...better find the MSDS for food colouring

We did it here and they just asked me a few questions

We had one last year - Only got asked a few general questions - had to show where stuff was - in general we just ran like normal so that they could see what goes on.
