cellular respiration prac for yr 9

Hi All, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions regarding a suitable prac experiment.I have been trying some bucket chemistry with yeasts , glucose and bromothymol blue to show ph changes with the production of CO2.The results have been variable.Any ideas on concentrations of solutions? . Any other ideas for a simple assessment task .

Nothing gets simpler than this: use a pH probe attached to a datalogger to graph change in pH of water with a student blowing through a straw into a foam cup.
