Acidified KMNO4

Teacher has asked for acidified KMNO4 
for organic practical, looking at double bonds. We have always used Br water, so now i have to make up KMNO4. I have instructions to make 0.1M in 4M H2SO4. It seems very strong. Has any of you used it and what strenght??
