Hi Annette,
I too am "just down the road" at Halls Head Community College in Mandurah. Hope to catch up with you at the lab techs conference at the end of the year at North Lake. I'm just going for the first day. Do you know about it? If not I'll post more details. Cheers

Hi to all the new WA'ers
I have been using this site for quite a while now. I'm at John Curtin and have been telling the others in my area to have a look. I find it very informative.
See you at the PD at NorthLake.

Hi all,
I am also from WA.
I think that Chemtalk is a great way to communicate with other Lab Techs around Australia. I think it is particularly valuable for people in remote schools. However in many schools where there is only one Lab Tech it is nice to have contact with others as one can feel quite isolated at times.
Perhaps we should suggest that numbers from each state could be included in the Statistics or membership section of this website?
Regards

Chemtalk is also a great way for us WA'ers to get in touch with each other, as we are not only isolated in areas but segregatated into Public and Private schools which is a shame. We have different PD days so there is hardly any contact between us. Be nice if there could be one day at the end of the year for all WA Labbies to meet together. But at least we all have chemtalk!
Thanks

Hi Julia,
I agree. It is certainly worthwhile getting together.
In fact last year I liaised on behalf of LABNETWEST with the Regional Technicians to have a combined meeting at North Lake. It was a great opportunity to get together in WA.
If many people are in favour then maybe it can be arranged for sometime in the future!
We will have the World Conference happening in Perth July 2007, where we will have 2 dedicated days for Lab Technicians.See http://www.worldste2007.asn.au for further details.
Kind Regards
Teresa

Hi all, yes it is good to be in contact with large numbers of other techs in a wide variety of places. Hope all of you going to PD this year really enjoy it. I hope to get down to next year's one.
