Was curious as to why there was a problem getting the battery covers off the STELR multimeters. Have just had a look at the STELR multimeters that we have. Undid the tiny screw of the battery cover with a small Phillipshead screwdriver and then used a flathead screwdriver to carefully lever the edge of the battery cover at the screw end. I can see why you had some difficulty getting the battery cover to lift. It was tight but did pop out with a little effort. No need to remove the blue cover. When you put the battery cover back on make sure that the two little bits on the opposite side to the screw hole are placed in the little holes before you push the battery cover into place. Then screw the cover down.
