Vitamin C solution

Post by Lis »

Hi can anyone tell me a recipe for vitamin C solution using ascorbic acid powder, the only one I have, from The Laboratory book says to use an "extraction solution" to dissolve the ascorbic acid, and it has phosphoric acid in it, and I dont have any.
thanks Lisa \:D/

can you just crush and dissolve a vitamin C tablet? that way you'd know exactly how much is in it.

There is a vitamin C powder available, then you just dissolve a little bit in water, worked well! It didn't cost much, about $20-25 at the chemist. I don't need my jar any more, teachers decided to do something different :redcard: so I could send to you?

We've always used regular Vitamin C tablets. We crush to 1000mg ones, and dissolve them in a litre of water. Then we have a standardised solution, which we can use to compare various juices, juice mixes etc, for the Vit C content.
Cheers, K 8-)
