Iodine

Post by Labbie »

A local school, has just rung me regarding IODINE,
she can not get any from Q-stores or Souther Biology, does any one know if this now is going to be so hard to get hold of??????????

Just like Ammonium Nitrate, you now need a license to purchase it.

What is happening :yuck:  8O #-o

Westlab's current catalogue has it listed:

Iodine LR (IL005-100g) for $37.80

Serrata also lists it:

Iodine LR 100g (1038745) for $36.75

Thank you every one, I was told by a Head Teacher from another school, DET, that solid items like Iodine, will be unable to purchase in the near future, only made up solutions will be able to be purchased. Cutting out things like accidents, Conc acids will only be sold in very small amounts, you can order all solution 0.1M etc. When I said no way, he said they have started already, with Bromide water, he gives it about 5 years, and then any one will be able to do our job. :yuck:

Thanks Rhonda, I ordered some on Friday, but it is kind of you to offer. Since my chat with that Head Teacher, I have been told, he really likes to get people going, will he did that a right. I do not believe him at all.
