Does anyone have an electricity prac that uses AC power instead of DC. Hope this makes sense

Need some more info
What are you trying to demonstrate
if you want to explain switching or light up globes A.C. is OK
Also heating effect should be alright but you need AC meters to measure values

I had a request to find a prac that demonstrated the use of AC on a power pack instead of DC which is what we usually use

Ticker timers use the AC setting on power packs. If you plug them into the DC setting they refuse to work. Use ticker timer tape and show the speed of acceleration. Don't forget to put the carbon paper in the right way.

We have a bunch of old fashioned doorbells that need AC not DC to make the clapper on the bell work. On DC they go "clunk" just once and that's it.

The ticker timers demonstrate that the AC alternates its direction ie the the taping of the ticker timer each time the electricity changes (alternates) direction. In DC mode the ticker timer doesn't work as the the current is Direct. DC goes in a circle not back and forward as in alternating current (In the normal 250 volt the current alternates 50 times per minute. ie 50 HZ) Is this what the teacher wants to demonstrate?
