Hi Tracy,
Methanol is available from Q Stores. Cat No. 812941. $14.12 for a 500ml bottle.or Cat No 204398. $111.21 for a 20litre drum. Could be a little more expensive now. I only have the 2005 catalogue.
Hope this helps.

Supplier for Methanol

Post by Robb »

Hi Tracy,

I can offer you a supplier (Chem-Supply) it will be best to contact them by phone or e-mail and discuss with them if there is supplier of their chemicals are near your location. They don't sell direct to industries but do through chem suppliers so this will be a better option.

They do sell Methanol in different pack sizes so your options are suited to you.

The number for Chem-Supply is (08) 8440 2000 (South Australia)

And a web address for inquiries: <URL removed, see forum rules>

This I hope has helped out heaps.

Tracy and Kath,

Greetings! I have checked the 2006 Q Stores catalogue and it does not list Methanol at all.

As an alternative, try Serrata Pty Ltd, P.O. Box 73 Galston NSW 2158, Phone: (02) 9651 3033, FAX (02) 9651 2031. I rang them just now to check and they have Methanol and would be happy to supply a school in W.A.

Their prices are:

A.R. 500 mls $24.68
A.R. 2.5 litres $49.88
L.R. 500 mls $13.65
L.R. 2.5 litres $34.65
plus GST.

Regards,
Robyn

methanol and chemical supplier

Post by estelle »

I was reading through old forums and came across the enquiry about methanol. I get my chemicals from a company called Silform the methanol LR was 500mL $5.50 and 2.5Lt $17.00 . ph: 07 4126 3631 or fax 07 4126 3634 Very reasonably priced and I think they actually supply Qstores with some chemicals. They also sell some other glassware etc.

Methanol Prices

Hi All,

Just be aware that there could be some sedimentation with cheaper Methanol products.

But some may be excellent.

Cheers,
