Aliens from outer space-

Post by Ocean Breeze »

OK... Heres a deep & meaningful

I dont believe in intelligent advanced civilisations from outer space that come in flying saucers. My most compelling arguement being, that they havent emailed us. :coffee:

Yeh, but to quote the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, we humans still think wrist watches are a pretty neat idea! Of course they exist, we have a few that are 'off the planet' here!

You saying that emails are too crude for them? But surely if they are smart/advanced, they will stoop to our technology to make contact? :?

That's assuming that at some point in their history they have used that technology. Emailing is nothing, it's just typed phone coversations using the same lines plus what language would they use if they chose to do so? Latin?

No, but maybe they don't have male appendages, and therefore don't see the need to enlarge them, as per the 500 spam emails that appear on my computer each week!

Cheers, K 8-)

True, true. The Internet does have a great deal to answer for. On the other hand it gives us the opportunity to have these great discussions. It is the information super highway after all, not the make my choice of new willy easier service. We don't get any SPAM. Your school needs better firewall protection in place.

If they were really smart, they would have automatic language translation. Their communications dept would just have to press the 'updates' button.

I'm sure we're interesting enough to view from a distance. If we had that capability and knew of another lifeform in some distant galaxy we'd have a peek without nessesarily ringing them as they are about to sit down for tea.

Dont bees do a similar thing.. up and down and occassional wiggle... and it communicates to the other workers where the food sources are.
Hang on! Logical! Aliens are bees... er... or bees are aliens...? :?

My gosh you males can w..k. I must admit to missing my male teachers where I could have lighthearted ridiculous conversations with. Hmmm That's a worry. Come on the AFL footy season when I get my mates back.

No, same reason as Robb & Pommy I'm afraid. I did do my HSC with a girl that was the spitting image of ALF (not AFL Voice - typo?) off the telly though. Even she thought there was more than a passing resemblance.

Now, back to aliens. Now I have never met one but the universe is sooooooooo massively gargantuan I just assume the possibility of Earth being the only planetary object that can support life is a bit far fetched. Just because we are quite clever doesn't mean other lifeforms out there are of the the same IQ or thicker than us. Earth would be an interesting planet for them to check out though. We do tend to stand out in the inky blackness.

What's "w..k" Voice? Are you lowering the tone? Oh no! 1 x Slartibartfast Karma has gone line dancing out the door with that posting also! Byeee Karma! Don't forget your hat!

I have a mate that's a bartender and he goes Lime Dancing all the time! :w00t:

I have a friend that does line dancing as well... she loves it, and they do seem to have a lot of fun. Folk rip me off about my boxing and weight lifting all the time... !
( I lost a karma too)
Just to let you know, I had seriously lost the plot yesterday...trying to source 200+ paint products on Chemwatch .....15000+ options for each product, and each screen taking a minute to move. So thought that we could discuss the big Universal issues..getting back to aliens... CANE TOADS.... aliens? 8O

Ha ha! Love it!! My Silver Perch fingerlings arrived today (x200) and I didn't have much time to reply in depth yesterday. Well busy but happy!!!! Cane toads are definantly alien. And goats, well mine anyway!
