Are these chemicals appropriate

We are thinking of ordering lithium chloride to try for flame tests (NR 7-12 Magenta).

Has anyone else tried it?

It is probably worth trying. A teacher we had here last year made lithium chloride from lithium carbonate and HCl I think, because he wanted it for the flame test. It worked very well, although I can't remember the colour, but everyone was impressed. Now you have reminded me Liz, I might order some as it would be easier than making it.
