We have a Professional Learning committee here and I applied for them to pay the membership-why take funds from the science dept.budget? Lord knows SASS staff are at the bottom of the funding list when it comes to training for anything!!!! Even our SAM didn't know about this,I had to tell her!!!
Cheers everyone ,I hope you all have a well earned holiday and return to work happy and healthy.
Take care

Hi All,

It is great to see this level of professionalism brought in to the position for the School Lab Managers. I trust this will be a great move towards setting some standards amongst us and providing the relevant support the position brings.

Well done.

Cheers,

Robb.....

Smee,
Does the Tax Dept recognise ASET-NSW as a "Professional Association" as far as tax deductibility of membership fees is concerned? eg, teachers can claim their STANSW membership as a tax deduction.

cheers
Ian

We are a registered association and accountable to the Taxation Dept for GST etc...so yes...we can claim our fees on our tax.

I asked HT if our faculty would pay the membership fee, as they do for the teachers, but am still waiting to hear back.

One way or another, I will be joining!

Congrats again to Smee et al for getting it off the ground :clap3:

I joined as a friend because I couldn't find how to become a member.

I'd appreciate any information about this.

Family health matters have prevented me from coming this year. Is there any other way to find out?
