Surely it would depend on the strength? A strong soln would be a toxic oxidiser but a very dilute soln would contain only traces of KMno. Our sinks have to go thru a special gully trap that the dept checks every so often. Maybe you could contact the supplier or manufacturer on the label and see what they say.

We also have a pit, from science, and all science sinks go to this pit, it is also checked once a year.

OK Senoirs moment.....but just looked at my own Risk Assessment: R50 and R53- "very toxic to aquatic organisms",- collect for disposal. And I have a waste bottle for collection in the 5.1 cupboard. S60 Which says "this material and its container must be disposed of as hazardous waste" and S61 "avoid release to the environment...."

Isn't Mn a heavy metal? therefore it can be treated as per heavy metal waste in CSIS, top layer decanted and ppt stored in heavy metal waste container?
