Why is it that because I am the Lab. Tech, people think I have knowledge of all things scientific? The day after the LHC was tested I was in the staff room and the cleaners were asking me what I knew about the LHC.
I mean I have read some stuff about it and watched a couple of the promotional type videos from the organisation who are running the LHC but it still doesn't mean I am a science guru

Re: Large Hadron Collider (LHC)
You disappoint me, Andrew,
some well placed science terms (proton subparticals traveling 99.99% of speed of light....) would make their head spin and they would be right in thinkikng you ARE the science guru.

Right on Lada,
Bluff is the best defence. Then run away and research it on the net, before lunch and the next rouns of questions!
At least we have a chance of understanding what we're saying.

AAhh! But was it not the wise old owl who said "Better to keep your mouth shut and thought stupid, than to open it and confirm it"? Mind you Lada's suggestion is quite cool really...
I wish I had the quick wit that alot of you have...

Re: Large Hadron Collider (LHC)
Last tuesday I had to console and reassure a year 10 girl that the world wasn't going to end yesterday due to it being "swallowed by a black hole"
She had been told about this generater by another student and was genuinely concerned the world was going to end!
