stop watches
A few years ago I purchased 30 of these stopwatches (if I can attach the pic I saved back then) from Q Stores. I can't find these same ones in their catalogue and the product code no longer exists. Does anyone know another supplier for these? PE love them so much they keep borrowing them and losing them and breaking them.... so we've come up with a plan - they order me 30 more (on their budget) and keep the ones I currently have for themselves

Re: stop watches
Ours always seem to walk in the students pockets I am sure - so now I just get the cheap ones from like Sams Warehouse or crazy prices for $2 each. They do the same job but the kids dont seem to nick these ones.

I find these Technos stopwatches the most reliable too. From Westlab, also Haines.

Stopwatches
Don't buy the MTA "exclusive" stopwatches (black and silver) because they are utterly useless, cheap, and break down if you walk past them. Not worth your time (pardon the pun).

Re: Stopwatches
I only buy the "Stopwatch, Technos, TM104, digital" (I got mine from Haines but other places might sell them). They are virtually unbreakable, easy to use, come with a case, take a AA battery that is easy to change, and if kids set the alarms they are easy to turn off again.
Thanks for the heads up about the other ones!

Re: Stopwatches
Same here Rosalie.
We've got some that have been with us decades judging by the fact the battery cover now needs some masking tape to hold it in place. We get them from Perth Scientific. They're $13 more expensive than the MTA ones but I'd rather pay extra for something that will last

Re: Stopwatches
Hey, RosalieL, thanks - I've been keen to buy stopwatches with standard size batteries. Sick of fiddly little button batteries and screw-shut covers.

Re: Stopwatches
We had those TM104 stopwatches at my last school . They are OK but we had at least one a year that would die .
Big advice is bin the battery that they come with . They are utter rubbish and will corrode out the Battery terminals in less than six months .
Having said that , I'd still recommend them .( the stopwatches , that is ) EDIT:
Just went and looked at the Black and silver ones on MTA .
While I was there I saw they have the TM104 but says exclusive to MTA . Also it's called an NYDA brand . Not sure if it's the same as the TM104 or a clone .

Re: Stopwatches
I have been buying our stopwatches from Hart Sports - a LOT cheaper, and they are long lasting. They do have models with button batteries, but also some with CR2032 which are easy to change out.
