Red Cabbage indicator
Morning Everyone, Just wondering am I able to store red cabbage indicator for a long period time in the fridge or does it go off after a while?

Re: Red Cabbage indicator
I had some in the fridge for about 18 months. When we used it, it didn't smell of anything much and worked perfectly.I'd have kept it longer, but we used it all.
Re: Red Cabbage indicator
I froze mine and the teachers said it was okay to use.
Re: Red Cabbage indicator
How about storing the cabbage? Due to our ordering policies I'm having to get some cabbage now to be used in eight weeks' time. Should I freeze it in the meantime?
Re: Red Cabbage indicator
I have put whole cabbages in the freezer and then cut pieces off when required - the teachers haven't complained.

Yep, we freeze ours as well. We chop it up and put in sandwich bags.

Yes we are a small school so don't need a huge amount of cabbage. I just cut a cabbage into the approximate sizes I'll need and wrap in glad wrap and freeze. Then I just get out what I need. If we have an unusually big class one year I will just get 2 out. I think I've made one cabbage last 4 years so far!

Thanks for the tip, Anna and Rosalie, I've now chopped mine up before freezing it!
