Got cunning .
Glued some scissors to a block of wood

Thanks Merilyn , yeah I was going to make it adjustable but run out of time .
Normally I do run it through some sand paper to clean it up David , but in the particular prac where it was used , we were getting unpredictable results and we put it down to inconsistent sanding .....IE some pieces were thinner than others and it was upsetting the results so we just used it as is ( oxidized) and it was more consistent.DavidPeterson wrote: ↑20 Nov 2019, 08:07 Great idea!
I would have cleaned the oxidation off the surface of the magnesium first though......should be nice and shiny
Rosalie , I like your thinking there .
Very smart thinking, I might give this a go!
Afterthought - Given how light magnesium is, it may be easier to weigh a whole metre instead of 10cm. I'm interested to hear what your conclusion as I don't have the time and space to do it for myself right now!LabbieSeth wrote: ↑04 Mar 2025, 11:00Very smart thinking, I might give this a go!
I was also thinking that it was 15ish metres but was unsure so I think you're right!
That's very true BigMack. I was thinking it would be hard to get an accurate and consistent length as they every pack seems to vary in what is actually in it.
