Yup, ours is on 24/7 and wouldn't be happy working in there if it wasn't 24/7.

Depends on size, chemicals, and storage systems and age I guess. Before my rebuild I always made the organic waste into an ester, thus defeating the butyric acid, but now it is all pretty good, [since the teachers have (mostly) stopped accessing it]. The acid cupboard sucks though, half the concentrated stuff seems to "weep", and also the iodine is triple stored, a jar, in a jar, in a sealed container.
