Traffic Light Oscillations using indigo carmine

Post by Kathryn »

Hi all

Has anyone done Traffic Light Oscillations using indigo carmine? We do not have indigo carmine and I am wondering if there is an alternative indicator we could use to produce the same effect? We will be doing the bluebottle using methylene blue - just looking for something else.
Thanks
Kathryn :)

I've seen catalyst rainbow and a pH one that changes through the colours which sometimes works, but I'd like to try the indigo carmine prac too. It's so dear for one demo though. I'll write up the Rainbow one in a minute!
