Re: SDS + Chemwatch
According to what Jazz posted, we have until 2016 to change these things. The old MSDS are still fine. I am sure that by 2016 they will be available in the GHS format but until then just go with the MSDS that's available. I am only planning on changing over as they need to be done. So we have 5 years to do it, and in that time as the MSDS needs updating then replace with SDS if it's available. Also, make sure you ask when you order new chemicals for the MSDS/SDS to be sent from the supplier. I always forget that bit... Then when they come you can just replace the old one in the folder.

Don't stress. Has anyone actually formally been told about these changes? All I know is what I have read here.

Re: SDS + Chemwatch
In SA our government is still arguing WHS legislation (incorporating GHS).
I wouldn't panic about (M)SDS - I've been here 12 years and the only time the MSDS folder gets opened is when I replace the outdated ones.
If you're bored, the following site contains interesting reading.....

Re: SDS + Chemwatch
Actually can anyone tell me if having our SDS'S printed in colour is mandatory? I'm trying to get access to a colour printer and this would help my argument.
Thanks

Hi Krysia Lee,
mini sds's need to be in colour as they are colour coded up the top.
but supplier sds's dont need to be as they are usually black and white except for the letterhead.
so it depends on what you are using. I hope that helps you.
