do you know what does the N stands for in CSIS book under user code? e.g potassium bromate and and phosphorus tribromide

"N" Unacceptable for use by support staff, general teaching staff and students. It has a black dot.

What "not recomended" means; forbiden or we still can have it but be carefull. we just purchase potassium bromide and she ,my tormentor , my boss said it is ok, she is the only one using it

Potassium bromide is different. It is suitable for yr7-12.
Check the label, they are two different chemicals.

Yes, used in many oscillating reactions.
