projectile launcher landing pad
Hi all,
I was just wandering what everyone uses as a landing pad for a projectile launcher. We have been using a piece of polystyrene but it is getting very dented which makes it hard to see where the ball has landed. Is there a better way of doing this?

Re: projectile launcher landing pad
maybe a tray of sand? or the long jump pit? that way you can smooth it over after every launch
Re: projectile launcher landing pad
We use carbon paper on top of A3 paper, I'm not even sure whether you can still buy it, since no one uses type writers anymore.

Hi All,
I use a small sand trap, rake it level and start again.

Re: projectile launcher landing pad
So, just wondering if anyone has bought carbon paper recently?? I'm down to my last 2 sheets and before I go searching the shops etc I thought one of you lovely people may have tracked some down. I remember last time I looked (and it was several years ago now) it was difficult to come across. Thanks!

Check if anyone in the offices still uses carbon paper in any of their books (some still come with carbon paper) and see if there are any finished off books that no longer need their carbon paper. That's where I found some once. I think it is becoming less and less available...

I just did a quick search and you can get it on ebay 100 sheets of black carbon paper for under $20 (including postage).
Re: projectile launcher landing pad
I think they refer to it as pencil carbon paper at the papershops
Or If you are feeling wasteful there are many forms in the front office that use NCR (no carbon required ) paper casual forms etc where second and third sheets are pressure sensitive get friend to distract boss's Secretary and pinch while she's not paying attention

Re: projectile launcher landing pad
Well, we use a flat tray of plasticine, covered in a sheet of butchers paper. I make a tray of smoothed out plasticine, put it outside to get hot, and therefore soft, and we get nice little bumps in it, and visible grease marks on the paper. Playdough can work too, if you get it at just the right consistency. I have a big sheet of ply as the tray - the kind of thing you get under big celebration cakes.
Cheers, K

Re: projectile launcher landing pad
I ended up buying the carbon paper from ebay for $17.55 / 100 sheets inc postage - a big difference from the $84 I found on 2 other sites. My HT and SAM were very happy with that. 100s sheets will see me out!! Thanks for the tip.
