ChemFFX
Hi All,
Is anybody having as much trouble with the new ChemFFX program as I am?
I can not add anything to my Manifest, other than new folders!
The "Vendor's MSDS" does nothing.
I can not find the old "Summary" sheet
The "Short" and "Long" buttons on the Gold MSDS button seem to yield exactly the same result.
The whole thing is as slow as molasses. Sometimes I have to hit the "GO" button several times before it decides to find what I have asked for.
The "On Line Video Tutorials" don't seem to work on my Mac unless I download them and play them "off line" and then when I do, they are useless and not worth having downloaded.
I have downloaded the instructions manual and printed it out (and read most of it) but that does NOT seem to have helped!
I have e-mailed Maree Townsend at AIS but not had a reply
Am I just dumb or have others found any of these problems too?
Cheers
Ian

Re: ChemFFX
I have been pulling my hair out over ChemFX. It is exceedingly slow. I can add stuff to my manifest but trying to delete materials is painful. I have been sucessful in getting Vendors MSDS but have no idea of the point of the "short" and "long" gold. Yeah I feel like this as well

Re: ChemFFX
I have had identical problems to the point of total frustration beyond wanting to harm my self. I contacted Chemwatch technical support and said that the system is not functioning as it should and that it only works at an excessively slow state, causing insane grief. The people that I have dealt with at Chemwatch have been most helpful and are aware that there are people are having these issues, they are working in conjunction with our IT people here. Iam now able to use the site successfully.

Re: ChemFFX
What is ChemFFX? I have been watching this thread the last few days - is it an independent schools thing? I am in an independant school and haven't heard of it. Is it something I should know about?

Re: ChemFFX
Yes Rosalie
Do you use ChemgoldII at your school?
& have you tried to access the existing ChemgoldII lately?
Any success?
If not, then youve been moved over and no-ones told you yet?

Ian,
I am new to this chemtalk and this is the first topic that took my eye because I have been extremely frustrated with the chemFFX site. It was always so reliable and very handy for mini msds and labels. Sometimes I get on and it works but that is rare these days. Recently it just searches and comes up DONE and blank!
Anyone have a miracle solution to this because I feel lost without it. ha ha

Re: ChemFFX
My manufest on Chemwatch 2 is working fine. I do hope they do not move the whole of the school manufest from chemwatch 2. It will take me ages to get all the stuff on again.

Re: ChemFFX
The manifest should just transfer ok, it just seems incredibly difficult to actually do anything with it. My user name and password also changed even though they tried to tell me it was the same - (changed from capital to lower case letters)

News Update on ChemFFX
I am making some progress after my initial frustration. Sharon from Mt Annan phoned me and walked me through a few things over an hour or so. Thanks a million Sharon!
I had a call this morning from Jo Kulik from ChemWatch Customer Service. She was very approachable and helpful and welcomes calls from users. Because our school accesses ChemWatch through AIS (Association of Independant Schools) she has asked that I pass on her details to any other AIS affiliated labbies. PM me if you need her e-mail address or phone number.
Cheers
