Hi all,
I have spome commercially prepared 0.1% Bromothymol Blue that is no longer blue. I have read somewhere that you can add something to fix the colour but I can't remember what!! Or doesn't the colour matter??
Help!!
Any ideas??
Thanks

Dear Jazz - Use dilute NaOH (just a few drops) this should do the trick. Judy.
Bromothymol Blue Indicator
Hi rae,
Bromothymol Blue upon heavy use and storage will discolour, this is due to the Carbon Dioxide in the air entering the bottle and over time and as more absorbs into solution the more prominent the change of appearance is.
Just simply subject it to the method outlined by judygee and this will see it return to its original coloured state.
Cheers,
Robb......
