Potassium Dichromate Indicator

Post by remlap12 »

Hi all,
I've been asked for Potassium Dichromate Indicator for a salinity prac for Marine Studies.
It looks like nasty stuff..............should I make up a 0.1M solution for it?

TIA

Riskassess still has anything above 0.03M as teacher only. Check the teacher - the advice on Riskassess is for pregnant women or women of reproductive age shouldn't handle it. Maybe ask the teacher for some more information about what they actually need so you know what you have to make up - they get paid the big bucks to know this stuff! Point out the toxicity of the chemical and work out how it will be disposed of. I'd question how important it is for the prac. I agree, it does look "nasty"!
