science week 2020

Post by Kathryn »

I know it is a long way off but my HoD has asked me to start thinking of ideas for science week so he can apply for a grant. This year it is on
‘Deep Blue: innovations for the future of our oceans’
Any ideas for lunch time activities and experiments for primary kids?

I was really hoping for some ideas more specific to this years theme - Oceans - innovations and sustainability.

I am running: How do whales stay warm, the difference in density between tap water and salt water using eggs, warm and cold ocean currents and having the students cleaning up an oil spill and rubbish in a water tank.

My coordinator made, what I think, was a sensible decision, and essentially cancelled Science Week activities. This week has been hectic with increased cleaning being mandated so I am so very thankful we don't have Science Week "fun" added into the mix.
Anyone else gave it a miss?
