geodes

Post by Krysia Lee »

Hi Everyone in labbie land!
I have a teacher who would like to make geodes, may use eggs however she is keen to have a sort of homemade sandstone geode that we can fill with alum, she is hoping there will be a little leaching to show stalactite formation.
I have tried making plaster of paris geode with sand mixed in but its pretty impermeable. Just tried a flour and sand mix that isn't holding its shape very well.
Any of you legends ever done anything like this?
