Can anyone help with a picture/photo of the Hertz Microwave experiment setup.
It uses transmitter, receiver, polished sheet of zinc or galvanised plate.
Any help mush appreciated

Just googled 'microwave apparatus set up' - looks like a few pictures there, too.

Hope this helps, Margaret.

Hi Everyone,

Just wondering if anyone can help us out? We have an old IEC Microwave Apparatus Model TX2 & RX2AS we have the specifications and Instructions for use information.

There is a Handbook of experiments apparently which we don't have, if anyone has one they don't want or would be able to copy for us. It is not available online apparently.

Cheers

It would be worth giving Industrial Equipment & Control Pty. Ltd. a call on (03) 9497 2555 if you haven't already - as a repairer they seem to try very hard to find old stuff for me!

Looks like you may need to buy the Experiment Manual .......probably explains why its not freely available on net.

To be honest , any experiments online that use a microwave apparatus will work just the same with the one you have .
So if you find an experiment for a wax prism for one brand of Microwave App , it will work just the same on yours .

Heres a pasco Microwave Experiment manual that covers most things .

We also have the door off a microwave oven . Kids find it reassuring when placed between Transmitter and Receiver how effective it is at stopping Microwave energy .

Another cool trick is to place a dry cloth between TX an RX . Signal passes through it unattenuated .
Then wet the cloth . The water molecule's in the cloth absorb the Microwaves and the signal picked up by the RX is significantly attenuated . This can be used to explain why phone reception and in particular Satellite's , EG Foxtel and internet Satellite drops out when it rains hard .
