Boric acid

Hi all,
I have a small amount of boric acid (solid) in a plastic container labeled as non-hazardous with a green dot. I have looked up the SDS and it is Hazardous and should be a red dot according to RiskAssess. Should I just put it in the chemicals awaiting disposal? Look up a label to print from chemwatch? Is boric acid something that is used much? I am happy to purchase some if it is something we are likely to use. I have no idea who the supplier/manufacturer is for this particular sample. I would feel much better having it in its original container! I'm pretty sure it's not allowed to be in a stored how it is currently, anyway.

I am in a private school so don't have access to CSIS.

According to RiskAssess, the solid is teacher only, solutions >0.89 M (>5.5% wt/wt) is 11-12 and <0.89 M (<5.5% wt/wt) is 7-12.
