Investigating a metallic element Pearson 10 p. 127 The teacher thinks the agar should be clear after addition of the AgNO3, but ours is going a purple gray colour. Anyone know about this?

Did you use distilled water to make the Agar . If you used Tap water , could be Chlorine reacting with the Silver Nitrate .

EDIT: I have not done that Prac myself , was just a thought .
