How often should the safety showers be checked? We only have the little hand held eye washers so I change the water in those weekly.

There's an invisible ink that's easy to make for an at home experiment.

We use it in our murder mystery prac for Yr 7.

Re: Chemical Store "odours"
Happy Friday! Opening an old thread here but wanted to know if anyone knew of a standard for how long the extraction fan needs to be running in the chem store room? Our fan is piped into our flammable, corrosives and oxidisers cabinets as well as the room. I figured it was best to have it on 24/7 bu...

Re: electrolysis of water
Thanks bigmack, I got the texta out and marked it on there. Will wait and see if there are any kids switched on enough to notice! I also put the electrodes in test tubes to protect them. They are a bit bent up but still shiny, attached and no rips in them. I had the voltage up on 12V. It took all da...

Thanks Marama T. I do have assess to ScienceAssist but thought that if the info was all there on RiskAssess it would mean one less place to look.

Re: Lighting Bunsens
Re-opening an old thread here.
Does anyone have an alternate for lighting the safety matches without the box??
The strike plates on the boxes are not lasting as long as needed so concerned that I'll end up with a whole bunch of matches and no boxes to light them on.
